We are going to be camping at Shades State Park on September 18-20. We are camping in the Whitetail, in the Non-Electric Camp. There are trails there, but we will drive over to Turkey Run and hike some of the trails over there. We can also go canoing if you like, or rent tubes. It not much, but it is a blast. I am bringing my bike. So if you got one bring it too. Make sure you pack a Camera. We will go over the other stuff later down the road, closer to the date. Sites go really fast, and normally have to be booked a 6 months to a year in advanced. So if you want to go get a site or pitch in on one of us that have one. Only 2 tents per site, max 6 people per site. They are 13 some a night...not bad at all

Alright I have changed this post so that way the is no confusion on where to meet, at what time we eat lunch, where the photo shoot is or who brings the blow up dolls....lol..

Heres a map of the camping. Here is some pics from last time I went to turkey run (just to get you exited about going)

I'm getting 14 (whenever the reservation system allows me to).

Just curious, why 13 and 14 on the main road into the campground, and difficult to get several sites together? Is it to late to change to Locust Grove and try to get the whole circle for us?

Love Shades!

They aren't used as much as Turkey Run is so close. So, there's less populous! It's also only about an hour from me (almost exactly 60 miles to the gate!).

Unfortunately, this is planned for the same weekend that I return from the west coast. So, unless I drive the 37 hours straight through, I won't be able to attend. :DamnDamn:

It's not 100 miles to modern restrooms. We always end up getting the shits when we go camping. If it's not Brad's beans causing it, it something else. I don't want to poop in pit pots. :)

So.. attend the jambo then sleep in the campground?

I know I'm planning on doing a lot of drinking, eating, sitting, and a little bit of hiking / biking.

Cool. you guys will have fun. If you have ever been to turkey run, then you will like this place. Its 10 mins from there, so it has a lot of the same kinda terrain, only smaller, and more quite in the park.

I am planing o hiking some when i get there. You all are going to be there at noon, then I'll meet you there and do some hiking with ya. Saturday I want to head over to turkey run and do the main trail over there. They are too cool to miss.
Then maybe hop on a tube and drift down the creek for a while

If we do salamonie, then we can bring the jet ski, and camp next to the lake. Mounds, is about half way between us. Clifty Falls, whelp, never been there, but sounds awesome. The dunes would be a good drive, a bit closer for you all up north.

I'm leaning towards Clifty Falls or Chain of Lakes.

I want to do Spring Mill some year, but I want to bring the family with me when I do it so they (or we) can stay at the Inn.

already thinking of a place for next year....lol what about salamonie., or mounds, or clifty falls...Boogers and shit!!...the dunes?

I like 'em all.
If we do Clifty Falls, I may be able to find some back roads for a cool drive. Not off-roadin', but dirt-roadin', stream crossings, etc. 4wd may even be required.

PS, we just made it to work today, 10 min. before 2:00, left Shades at 10:00. Had another great weekend
