When I pulled my tranny this summer to do some work and I put everything back togather my shift knob doesn't want to stay tight, it always s loose, plus the little metal part on the bottom is seperate from the knob itself. Aren't those supposed to be togather? Anyway I was thinking about just replacing it with something cool, maybe a Grenade like roberts... does anybody know of cool shift knobs out there other than a grenade?

Screw the metal part down as far as it goes. Then tighten the knob on as far as itll go. Back the metal nut off until it bottoms out on the knob. using a wrench or pair of pliers, wedge the metal nut against the knob tightly. Then it wont spin anymore

Go to GI Joe's and get you self a grenade. Then to the wareware store and get a nut that fits the shifter. Drill a hole in a side of the grenade and have some one tack weld the nut on it. I may also suggest to tack weld the pin and ring on it too or it will rattle and drive ya nuts.
