Ok, I know this is asking a lot out of a tire, BUT I want something that performs as well or better than BFG M/T's, wear as long as or better, and actually measure there advertised height.
looking for a 33/12.5 r15
I was contemplating TSL radials, but after some research, seems they wear out awful fast. I then looked at SSR's, but they are a little expensive.
Right now I have BFG M/T's 32's that look more like 31's. I like the performance and the wear of them, they are just too damn small. I rub my belly pan on almost every hill crest and frequently get high centered. I'm open to any and all reccomendations. Oh yeah, I am wanting to stay away from all terrains.

i think you should run LTB's, they wear REALLY fast, but they're cheap...so you can afford to get like one set a year

with the light weight of the jeep, and rotating, TSLs should have descent wear. Shoot, who knows how many miles where in the TSLs that Chuck had on his old brown chevy, they got awsome milage.

That's very true, i forgot all about those...they were 38.5x12.5x16.5 TSL Bias ply....they wore great!! they still look great too, and i had 12,000mi on the truck when i sold it, then Matt drove it daily and off road for 2 years, probly 16-20,000, and sold it last winter and it's sat since thne...but i bet they still have half tread....and that truck weighed in at like 7400lbs....

byply tsl's have an outer edge that is soft. that wears off pretty quick. however that layer under the outer edge seems to stick around forever, making the tires last forever.
i ran a set of 38s that i bought with the outer layer wore off. still offered great traction off road and still had good tread left when i sold them off...

I've had good luck with the TSL Bias Ply's but my favorite tire for the is the Delta Mud Trac's I've had two sets one on a full size blazer that I put about 20,000 miles on and then sold em they are still in great shape offered great traction on and offroad. I used them for plowing snow one winter even and they were excellent. The other set is on our Tahoe and they got almost 30,000 miles on em and still have 13 to 14 32'nds of tread left on a Tahoe. I can't say enough good about the Mud Trac's

forgot to mention that i have had two sets of general grabbers and had really good luck with them. they were daily drivin on the street in a set of 31s and 33s. they wore very well and lasted a long time. i did have both sets siped for bettter wet weather traction and that helped a lot. plus they are a very affordable tire...

If your running radials now and you do a majority of street driving I would suggest that you stay with radials. There will be a big difference in the way it drives if you switch to a bias tire. A bias tire tends to "drive you" instead of you driving it. It will give the steering a loose feel. I would suggest the Firestone Destination MT. A friend of mine had a set on a K5 Blazer and they performed extremely well both on and off road. I like the side biters on the tread to help pull through the mud.

from general's website, they don't offer a mud terrain, at least not anymore. I kinda like the look of the Delta Mud Trac's. Do they clean out pretty well in mud, are the sidewalls good and strong, but will still give a nice bulge when aired down, do they measure their advertised height?

The Mud Tracs are very close to size, they clean out excellently and they performed quite well on the trail from what I've seen. Sandman on here has em on his XJ and hasn't had the first complaint about them either.

Change your tire size.
BFG Mud Terrain (I'm sold on All Terrains)
33x10.5 or 33x9.5
33x10.5 taller than a 32, and with less rubbing. Kelly used to make a 10.5 inch as well, don't know if they still do.

Kumho Venture M/T. I've got about 20,000 miles on mine so far and very little wear -- I should easily get 60,000 out of them. Nearly identical tread pattern as BFG M/T, for 2/3 the price.

what Chuck said... usually from what I've seen Interco runs slightly large...

The Irok's were the only one's I've known of to be over the stated size. All the others I've seen measured smaller than advertised. I know the 34" LTB's measure about 33" and the TSL's I had were probalby a good 1/2" under, and I've seen Boggers be a good 1" plus undersized.

Interco's website give actual sizes for thier tires on thier website, for the tire in question the measurement is 31.6
http://www.intercotire.com/site30.php
whats funny, if you look at it, depending on the size, some are dead on, some are under, and some are over... its no consistant with size.
