 Post subject: Locker Question
Post Posted: Sat Dec 08, 2007 9:46 pm
Air lockers vs Electric lockers, is one better than the other? I was jus lookin around at some and i found that the Auburn ECTED lockers where quite cheaper than ARB's Air Lockers. Are air lockers better by any means? I kno that the Rubi TJs came with electric lockers as O.E. and havent seen any probs wit them at work that i know of. I jus think id like electric more than pneumatic unless there is an advantage to pneumatic. Thanks for all the help!

I don't think the Auburn is a FULL locker, as in turns into a spool when engaged. Could be wrong, but when reading the description that is what it came across as.

The Rubi lockers were air lockers as well.

I chose the ARB for my project.

I was going to put in a Auburn ECTED. I bought one, but, after reading on the JeepFourm.com I sold it.

75% of them failed. Clutches sliped, and it is not a full locker. The 25% that did not fail, were not wheeled hard.

I have read that a Eaton E is much better. I have not done any reading on it yet though.
