They don't like mud too well. My friend has a set of the 37's and for the wheeling around here, we were disappointed. As soon as they got wet, traction was all but gone. We had really high hopes for the tires too. I'm sure they are awesome out on the big rocks of the west, but like I said, they just plain sucked at getting around after they had any mud in them.

Tom for what you do with your Jeep I don't think you should run krawlers. I think the BFG KM2 would be your best bet. The sidewall is a little tougher then the first gen MT also. Everybody that has them on there Jeep says they are very happy with them. and I've heard they are sticky as heck. You could do a YJ wheely when pulling in the driveway tom! It would impress Jackie and then you could get in her pants if you wanted. Look this guy has a 2.5L too Boogers and shit!!

They kick ass in mud, and they hold there own on the rocks all the same. They are not as loud as a MT

why would you think the km2's would be any better in the mud than the krawlers? They're basically the same tread pattern...All I can say is that I my MTZ's

This months petersons offroad mag did a test on the Hankook Dynapro M/T. It seemed to be a good all around tire snow,mud,sand,rock,and street. I was looking at a set for my Z71 and they are pretty reasonable on the pocket. You should check them out. If anyone has run them before let me know how they are. The tread pattern on them looks pretty cool also.

i also my MTZ's just bought my second set 2 weeks ago and if by any chance you are thinking about a set of them call zurcher tire in monroe (south of decatur) a lil drive but was 50 a tire cheaper than any magazine ad or tire shop i called

My red label krawlers are awesome in the rocks and have even performed well in the ice. they are not good in the heavy mud...but mine are worn down pretty well and not anything like a new set would be. I don't do much street driving with it and the tires aren't rated for street...
For an all around MT with street driving I would go with the BFG MTs.

I also have a friend who had the Hangook M/T in 35", and they just plain sucked in everything. Pretty quiet on the street though. I was a huge fan of my BFG M/T's (second gen with tread knobs on sidewall). They lasted incredibly long for a mud tire and rode really well on the street (these were 32's). I decided to go with the SSR's this time around. No experience yet however. I've got the Firestone M/T's on my XJ right now. Haven't had it in the mud with them but they look like they'd do pretty well. No idea on sidewall strength. I wasn't expecting too much out of them at first but have grown to like them quite a bit. I got them because I get a 35% discount on Bridgestone/Firestone stuff.

I ran ProComp M/Ts on my TJ. I never had any issues with them, when I got rid of the TJ, the tires had almost 40k on them, and still had about 3/16" tread left. They handled everthing that I could throw at them here in Indiana, as well as some trails and rocks in cental CO and Moab.
I have ran Dunlop MudRovers on a couple of non-Jeep vehicles. and I have had lots of success, I have a buddy that swears they are the best.

I believe BFG makes a 7 ply tire.
We make a 35 inch Mud Terrain, and the Hummer tires are at least that big. They might even be 37s.

I looked again the other day. 7 ply tread, 4 ply sidewall, 37x12.50. 16 or 16.5 rim, whatever Hummer beadlocks are.
