I'm looking for idea's for a small pull behind trailer that I could tote behind my two Jeeps. I was wanting it to have a Jeep feel, I thought about a comanche truck bed if 1. I could find one, and 2. it wasn't rusted out. So I thought about something more common and thats a TJ tub.. I have seen most cut the tub where the doors shut. However what if I use the whole tub? and either weld the doors shut or use them as another means of getting cargo out? I also thought if I got an LJ tub and frame I could have a really long trailer..

My uses for this trailer would be to haul mulch, misc big stuff that won't fit well in my TJ or KJ or stuff that I don't want to dirty the inside of my jeeps. So what are your thoughts?

You could keep an eye out for one of the m100 or m416 trailers, or the like?

That is true, but I bet it would be rough to find one. Never know though

I've seen a few, but usually kinda pricey, or very abused...

Thats why I was thinking just using a wrangler tub. Speaking of jeep trailers, has anybody seen those Jeep trailer pop up campers? They are made by Mopar and are like 10 grand..as much as my KJ lol

the problem with using a Jeep tub and keeping the rear wheel wells in the factory location is that it would make for a distance between the hitch and the axle center line, therefore, risking having a lot of tongue weight. Unless you planned on shortening the distance of the original door opening and moving the firewall section closer to the back?

It was really too small for what I wanted..it didn't seem very wide to actually haul anything..I will probbely just browse craigslist and find a smaller utility trailer..not really in any rush to find one though. I would just like something cheap and easy like your little small trailer..

The guy that bought Tom's said he is going to raise the deck on it and make it wider to haul a mower on it.

Mine is falling apart but has been a great trailer for almost 10 years!

Make your own. It's not hard. It really wouldn't cost much. You have a welder don't you?

No welder, and I have only welded a couple times..I would need a little more practice before I do something like that. A welder is a purchase I would like to make in the future just not right now.
