Look up GIS for your area....

Lafayette has a GIS website...not sure how updated it is...it seems to have about a 6-12month lag time from when someone buys property to when they list their name on the website. It's nice though...

Use the "ID Parcel" tool in the GIS Data Viewer to get the parcel ID, then copy the ID into the Allen County Assessor's Online Property Card Search to get the info on the parcel (including the parcel's owner).
