Planning a trip the first weekend in May, 2-3. This will avoid the voucher system and I can't go any other weekend in May. April can be real iffy! We will go up early Saturday and dune for the afternoon/evening. We will stay in a hotel either in Hart or the Sierra Sands Hotel. Anyone interested let me know. I have a few others going with trucks and my mom is going to take her Libby!

It is a five hour drive. No real interstate way to get there. Also, the local hotels range from $50 on up. This is considered off-season that weekend. I know some people get worried about sand getting into things, but I have never had a problem, except it gets all over the interior!! I get more wierd noises and things after being in mud than at the dunes. It is worth the trip just once and then if you don't like it, oh well. I would like to try and get confirmation from those wanting to go by the end of the first week of April so we can all make reservations to stay at the same location if anyone chooses. We kinda know the owners of a nice little hotel in Hart and they may give a good deal if we are going to book a lot of rooms. This is about 8-9 miles from the dunes, but right off the highway to get there.

also, sand is good for giving your tires a real good scrubbing... gets that old mud residue off of them....  silver lake is a blast.

yes it is a blast, and i'd to go, but it's only a month after the badlands trip, don't think i'll have time to save and repair the  i break at the badlands.
