January 23rd/24th, 2009 in case you didn't see it on Pirate 4x4:
Fort Wayne's very own Team Branik Motorsports came into Lexington, KY and swept the weekend by grabbing a 1st place on Friday night with Rosco and a 1st place on Saturday night with Stan Haynes. Adding to the 1st place that Rosco captured at the Louisville, KY event (Stan got second place in Louisville) two weeks prior.

It was a motorsports show with truck pulls and monster trucks with the XRRA competitors inside rupp arena. My best guess is 8k fans on friday and 10k fans on saturday. The track was small, but the competitors made the most of it!

Here's quick recap

XRRA competitor Jason Aliff getting crazy on Friday night crushing the NAPA hat.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8md0wfqdhc

XRRA competitor Kim Sears winning the "big air" award...the video then flows into the awards ceremony from Saturday night
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoBstxy-ywU

Video clips from Rosco's wife Michelle
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFG5-YAesyM&feature=channel_page

A lot of pics here. (These pics aren't mine but from another XRRA competitor)

A 5 minute video that captures the moments (video courtesy of rockoutracing)

And Rosco from friday night.

There will be a hotdog friday on February 6th also.

That's a firesuit jacket that the Branik Logo was printed on.

You can have the logo put on just about anything, I just had some pullover hoodie sweatshirts made. I can let you know the place that does it.

Otherwise they only have tshirts already printed up forsale at the shop.

Branik Motorsports is headed to Alabama this weekend for two XRRA races.

Pirate4x4 will have a "live" thread covering the event in this forum.
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=49

Look for the Live Coverage from Grayrock or something to that effect in the forum starting on saturday morning.

I caught an episode of a tv show called Wreckreaction Nation on Discovery and they were in Jellico for an XRRA event. I can't remeber the guy they were highlighting about the racing, but he had a BIG BRANIK MOTORSPORTS decal on the side of his rig. It was a cool spot about rock racing.

Branik Motorsports & Badlands Off Road Team Up for XRRA and TREC

Image

Image

It’s official; Indiana’s best off road park is now supporting Indiana’s most synonymous name in rock sports competition, Branik Motorsports.

Continuing their support of the off road community, Badlands Off Road will be supporting Branik Motorsports’ three buggies piloted by Stan Haynes, Brandon Haynes, and Tony Rietdorf through the 2009 XRRA-East and TREC series. Thanks to the Badlands, we have received the much needed support to ensure the viability of our race operations through the 2009 season.

Badlands Off Road is a privately-owned tract of about 800 acres in western Indiana. It is a smorgasbord of off-road riding: sand dunes, pea gravel hills, bottomless mud, the tightest off-camber woods trails, extreme rock crawling, shear drop-offs, hood-deep water, stream crossings, etc. You name it, the Badlands has it.

The Branik Motorsports’ drivers and crew have been riding the Badlands since 1998. Over the years, we’ve come to view the Badlands as our home turf. We are extremely excited to have them as part of our team and to represent them as we take our unique competitive style on the road this season.

We also look forward to supporting the Badlands’ inaugural season of TREC racing. TREC is Trail Racing Endurance Circuit a.k.a. FOOT TO THE FLOOR - AVOID THAT TREE - FLY THROUGH THE AIR - KEEP IT ON AT LEAST TWO WHEELS RACE!

TREC transforms the average Saturday trail ride (traveling less than five miles per hour) to a race over the mountains, through the woods, and across the awesome dunes of the Badlands at redline speeds!

TREC is about endurance, not the difficulty of an obstacle. A 12+ mile course has been designed at the Badlands. This course will encompass everything a normal slow trail ride has such as rocks, hills, mud, sand, etc; but now speed has been incorporated into the competition! The Badlands has the unique ability to offer a small scale desert-style race and dense woods that will maximize the thrill and offer even more excitement!

TREC will have four evening races at the Badlands. The races will last approximately two hours and take place after the park closes. TREC will have multiple vehicles at one time starting in staged starts and racers will have two classes to choose from to accommodate different vehicles.

As Fall approaches the races will drive into the moonlight and the fourth and final event of the season will include the most exhilarating element – darkness!

For more information on the TREC series, check out http://www.trecwithus.com.

For more information on the XRRA, check out http://www.xrra.com.

To those looking for the best off roading in the Midwest, come check out the Badlands in Attica, IN at http://www.badlandsoffroad.com.

We competed in the TREC at the badlands this past weekend where Brandon "Dino" Haynes took the Unlimited Class win.

If a TREC post hasn't been started, I'll start one soon, cause its fun stuff...I'm seriously considering the baby jeep for an entry in the door slammer class...I'll start a new thread on that or discuss it further in a more appropriate thread.

Back from Jellico with fun times had by all.

On Saturday XRRA east race #3 Dino finished 5th with Rosco 7th and Stan in 11th. Rosco missed the shootout by 2.5 seconds and Stan missed it by one pivot cone.

On Sunday XRRA east race #4 ALL THREE BRANIK RIGS MADE THE SHOOTOUT!!!! All three rigs ran all day without breaking one banner or any penalties all day!!!! Rosco finished 4th, with Dino in 5th, and Stan in 6th.

XRRA east race #5 is in Jellico again in August.

out of how many teams running? just curious as to how many teams there are running in these kind of things....10?lol or 20 or 30?

we got 7th out of 7....LOL seriously there were 18 teams running this past weekend as far as the finish...the points series was probably around 25 to 30 total teams...so top 12 going would be about half or a little less...which is pretty bad ass IMHO...i know of at least 5 teams that didn't show this past weekend, whether is was because they knew they weren't in the top 12 or because there was one out of the 5 races you could throw out and still be in the points...

I neglected to update this after Colorado.
Rosco finished 7th in the finals in Colorado, Stan and Dino finished in the top 20.

We are set to head to Alabama this weekend for a weekend of two XRRA races. Not sure if Pirate4x4.com will have coverage but if you are a friend of mine on Facebook I will be updating my facebook on and off both days.

Following XRRA Alabama we will return home, tighten bolts and head out the door again to PA!
This will be one of the biggest races that we have done to date. It’s called the Rausch Creek – King of the Hammers Qualifier. It’s a long name for a long race. It will be ~80 miles of racing with a mix of high-speed desert style racing, rockcrawling, trees, trails, mud, and bumps. Think the next level of TREC racing.

If we do well in this Qualifier, we’ll earn a spot in the King of the Hammers race in Johnson Valley, CA in Feb 2011. The KOH race in California is the biggest race in our sport right now. It’s quickly gaining national headlines in major magazines, on cable TV, and throngs of coverage on the internet.

Follow this link for a short video from the 2009 Rausch Creek Qualifier: http://vimeo.com/5739508

Follow this one for the DVD trailer for the 2010 KOH-California race: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vy_a1pmrP74

The Rausch Creek Qualifier race takes place on Friday, May 7th. It’s a daytime race with the green flag dropping about 9am EDT.

If you’d like to follow along with the race, www.pirate4x4.com will be providing live internet coverage. Their coverage varies from race to race, but they generally have some sort of live audio, video, blog, and a scoreboard.

If you care to check in with our progress, head over to Pirate4x4 one week from this Friday, follow the link to the Rausch Creek Qualifier (RCQ) page, and look for mention of the #302 or #518 buggyes. I'll be crew chiefing for Rosco in the #302 and helping in the pits with the #518.

Tune in this weekend and on the 7th and wish us luck!

i will let you know if we have an open seat sometime...usually we fill up the trucks that we take with people...

This weekend Brandon "dino" made the shootout on Saturday and finished 5th overall, rosco had a steering ram fail. On Sunday things weren't that much better, Dino missed the shootout by less than a second.

We are heading to Rausch Creek for the KOH qualifier on Wednesday, hoping to turn our luck around!!!

In Case you missed it:

Brandon "DINO" Haynes in the #518 Branik Motorsports buggy qualified in Rausch Creek at the qualifier for KOH 2011 on May 7th, 2010.

This means that there is officially someone in the KOH race next February from right here in FORT WAYNE, IN!!!!!!

So if you see Dino anytime soon, wish him congrats on qualifying.

Stan is borrowing a buggy from another competitor to try to get qualified for KOH. He is going to run the Harlan qualifier and the Badlands qualifier. The qualifier qualifies the driver not the rig, the rig just has to pass KOH tech, so if he qualifies in a borrowed rig, he can race his own rig. He is starting a new rig next week I believe.

If anyone on this board is thinking that they may want to help with pits and crew at KOH with branik we are definately going to need some bodies. We can't pay you, we may or may not be able to help with travel, depending on how many trucks go, and looking at different options on accomidations on the lake bed. I've never been paid a cent for what I do and never expect anything but a good time and i call it a "working vacation." If there is enough interest we can look at putting four people in a car to drive out with the trucks to help save money as well. If this sounds like something you would be interested in at all, and you aren't expecting to get paid, but to have a good time (we will hopefully provide tshirts for the help and food will be spread out to ease feeding) please let me know via PM. As the "crew chief" I'm going to be trying to organize the effort in getting people and support rigs to the lake bed and giving this race our best shot. There will also be some folks that will be flying out as well if that is something that works better for your schedule, again it would be up to you on air fare. Also if anyone knows of a local company that might be interested in sponsorship please let me know too.

If you didn't catch it, Truck "you"(niverse) will reair the KOH 2010 race coverage on speed this friday at 4:30pm. If you have no idea what KOH is this is a the show to watch to gain a better understanding of the biggested thing that Branik has been apart of.

KOH 2011 is next February
