it was really for sale dick...the owner of the body shop just happen to be standing there when i stopped to ask about it and kinda pushed the kid to sell it. he was tired of it setting there.

as for momma's rig, yeah kinda. we bought it so that we can sell the van and get away from a payment.

If you need any help or a garage to do it in or whatever, just give me a call paps, anytime.

So what year did the parts come from anyway?I know we were talking about this but I could'nt remember if you were putting first or second generation parts on it.

well i went out today and start messin around with the new turd. im thinkin i need the mechanical fans mount system. i got my new power steering pump pulley on and started to put on the fan and pulley. the fan pulley is rubbing the timing chain cover. i figure when the crash happened it pushed the shaft farther into the mount....

anyone have 1 laying around for a 4.0 in a 2000 xj?

well i put the mount in a press and just pushed it back out. put it back in installed the junkyard alternator and the put the fan and belt on. hooked up the jumpers to the battery and let it charge for a few minutes...fired right up. junkyard alt seems to be workin ok according to the gauge in the dash anyway.. the fan is bent from the so im gonna new to get a new fan and clutch. i turned it around in the street and pulled it nose first into the drive way. everything seemed to be responsive and workin ok.

so i got a used fan and clutch from a guy. the clutch was bad but good fan so no biggie there. got another clutch from a guy. that 1 had the damn threads stripped out on one of the holes. so i go down to autozone and buy a new clutch. that one was wrong also. they say its what the computer calls for. not even close. so i bought a spacer and put on a aftermarket flex fan i had on the shelf out side. battery is junk so going to buy a new battery.

the flares have brackets they snap on to then the brackets bolt to the fender. The brackets have to be off the fender to snap the flare on. And 9 times out of 10 the studs on the brackets break
