 Post subject: engine question.

I am looking at a chevy 4.3 to put in my jeep anyone know if it will bolt up to my tranny? i have a 2.5 i belive with the ax5

you would need to get an adapter, from a place like advanced adapters of NOVAK.
AX5 is probably a little week for that particular engine.
Just FYI for your search, the 4.3 uses the same bell housing as a small block chevy.
If it were me, and set in keeping a manual, I'd look for a NV3500 out of a chevy.

ditto, ax-5 = no likey power. you'd be much better off getting the motor, manual tranny, wiring harness and computer out of an s10 or blazer, then you'll get the much stronger t-5 tranny and it'll have the same t-case bolt pattern.

I don't really understand why you would want a 4.3?I mean I'm a Chevy guy and would'nt swap my 4.0 for one of those.How about a Chevy 5.3 :acclaim: very nice :tu2:

considering the work you have to do to get a 4.0 in there a 4.3 should be about the same. should get better gas mileage too, and a tad more power.
