Well yesterday I drove my XJ up to Auburn and I was surprised I maid it back. There was so much poppin, and sputtering , misfires and such I thought for sure it was just a spark plug or something simple, well I am sooo wrong. Today I got to tinkering and looking around I looked at the huge crack in the header. I have been looking at prices for an after market header, Man I am gonna be poor LOL those headers are pricey. Anyone get an after market header. \Did it make a difference?

Its an almost common problem on the 4.0.
If you price a stock replacement, its pretty close to an after market.
I ran a stainless steal Borla header on my TJ. I noticed a little more bottom end, and a little better get up and go. It also improved my fuel milage about 1mpg. The install was fairly straight forward, think it took me about an hour.

you could pull it, clean it and weld it and put it back it, but it will just crack again in another spot...very common problem.

if you're gonna pull it, might as well upgrade the part.
