I have no clue where the hell this guy got the dana 30 he swapped into this TJ. He said he swapped the 44 and 30 at the same time, so i assume they came out of the same jeep. However, the yoke on this thing doesnt have the traditional straps like all the other newer jeeps ive worked on. Its got the ubolts for the ujoints. I know cjs had them, but ive never seen them on anything late 80s and up. Is there an aftermarket yoke you can get to do this? Im gonna pull them off later to see if he just drilled out the holes to use the ubolts instead of straps.

yup there's a yoke you can buy to convert it. unless there is room for the U-bolt nuts, in which case you could just drill it out. Spicer part #2-4-8091X and use U-bolt part #2-94-28X.

what nick said...the U-bolt style is better than the straps.

you bolts are much better than straps.
