not sure if this is in right place ?

well i got pulled over by the cops the other nite going to my route and the cop told me that he pulled me over because i had not turned my stock head lights on and only had my 2 sets of lights on my bumper on he told me that by law i had to have at least my stock lights on and only 1 other set of lights on that i was not allowed to run all my lights at once either even though my lights do not shine in any back windows any truth in this? just curious?

yup. every yr on the fire DP we had to take the DP driving course. it was a cpl hrs of classroom and then a driving test in the trucks. lights were covered in the class. lol and other then him being a cop and have the book that the laws are in, im pretty sure he would be able to tell ya that and it be right. :2up:

huh. I knew someone who had really bright stock lights on their car once. They asked a cop if they could run their driving lights instead so people would stop flashing their highs at them. He said she could as long as she had her parking lights on too. Said that she just had to have 2 driving lights in the front to be legal

this cop was pretty adament that you had to no matter what had to have greasy sphincter original stock lights i.e. whatever was not added on afterwards on at nite now you could run an additional set but that would be all that is allowed on the street

1 set of stock lights (have to be on) plus parking lights
1 additional set of lights is permitted

no more after that though

just poking around to see the consensus

when i ask him why he pulled me over he implied "well you know it 2 am, you forgot to turn greasy sphincter lights on, (even though i had 2 sets actually on) usually that could mean that". and i finished saying i know you ran my plates seen that i had a d.you.i. 14 years ago, 16 yrs ago oh! and 19 yrs ago so you figured i might be a drunk driver ( I WAS PROFILED, STEREOTYPED)
he was cool about it no ticket or nothing but alls well that ends well

Unsure about the stock headlights thing, but I do know you are only permitted to have 2 sets (4) lights on at a time.

You called it Ozz, any reason to run your name! If anything would've come back on ya, the lights are how they would have justified the pullover in court.

Lots of cops have no idea of the laws they are supposed to be enforcing.

Where does it say the headlights have to be on?
Quote:
Sec. 20. Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, the head lamps, the auxiliary driving lamp, the auxiliary passing lamp, or a combination of these lamps on motor vehicles, other than motorcycles or motor-driven cycles, must be arranged so that the driver may select between distributions of light projected to different elevations.

dont know how they can make you run stockers... if you look at all the pick ups with plows on them in the winter their lights are behind the plow. thats why they have the extra lights in the first place.
