I wish there was a common post area for topics, but I guess this will work. ;)

My wife is in the mood for a different car. She has an '01 Grand Cherokee Laredo which is in excellent shape, but we saw an '03 Liberty Limited this past weekend for sale and we like it. Car Fax shows it's had the ball joint seals replaced, all the maintenance, inspections, and repairs are up to date, and has 115K miles. It has most of the bells and whistles that the Laredo has, but also has a moonroof (wife wants one!) and a cool burgundy-ish color. Wife likes to change cars about every 5-6 years. There's nothing wrong with the Laredo, she's just ready for something different. I'll probably drive my '97 TJ until the wheels fall off. :)

If we get this Liberty it'll most likely stay on the pavement. We live north of Huntington out in the country so the 4WD is a must for snow and stuff.

I've never driven a Liberty until last weekend for the test drive and it felt pretty good. I did see a couple at Kessie's for Jeep Jam last weekend and they seemed to do alright. What do you folks think about the Liberty? Anything I should know before I jump at it?

Cant replace the ball joints up front unless your replace the whole A arm but! Theres a company that makes A arms that have replacable ball joints and they hold a better alignment. With that many miles youll need to check shocks and springs as they are worn out most likely but Id just replace shocks. Other then that watch out for window regulators they tend to go out. I love my KJ there awesome little Jeeps

Lower ball joints at least in the 02-03 or so KJ's were replaceable...They had a recall out which replaced them. Not the uppers may be a complete control arm, I can't remember.
