Well...i missed a hard shift yesterday morning while i was in a hurry, and turns out i bent the 1-2 shift rail....now i gotta pull the tranny and take it in to get a new rail installed...plus i'm doing a clutch while i'm at it....dag gone it...

Guess what....you can't fix a ZF 6speed....you just replace it....so the trucks getting a remanufactured tranny this weekend....woo hoo!! only $2700 ! ! !

yup, need the core, and it's fixable, but you have to freeze the counter shaft, then heat the gears and synchros to get them apart, which the shop can't do in house, and it's 1100 buck for parts, thats just the 1-2 parts, then i've got 800 or more in labor, plus 1100 for parts, plus another 400 or so for them to ship it out and get the new gears and synchro put on...so it's either a remanufactured one for $2655, or an old used one (mine) for 2300, and that's only replacing the 1-2 synchros....all the rest would still be old...but the good news is i'm getting a dual friction Ft Wayne Clutch for $400....

Wow... that sucks... what gets me, is that House beats the crap out of his truck and has never had any significant tranny issues, and you aren't that hard on yours, hardly even drive it for that matter, and something like this happens... what gives...

Um...i had the throttle mashed with the chip on and missed 2nd, but pulled hard enough on the shifter to make it go in....:-) i was HARD on it...

Yeah, but i think he waits for the tranny to be in gear before he dumps the clutch...i didn't...

So.....got the rebuild in right...been driving it since april...second gear synchros junk....its going back....i'm not very happy right now...

It would be late....like i'd start at 10pm or something stupid....i've gotta drive to kokomo to get my loaner car...

thanks...thanks alot-I'll have you know that it can do up to 30 mph across a very bumpy pasture...oh-wait, you were with me. Surely if it can do that, it can drive on a smooth rode at 60ish....lol...
